Fees
We take 10% of the SOL we recover, and never more — and if an account holds more than 0.002 SOL, you keep at least 0.002 SOL of it. If your wallet is empty we pay the network fee for you and take 20% instead.
There is no subscription, no listing fee and no charge for scanning. The fee is a transfer inside the same transaction that returns your rent, so you see the exact amount before you sign and it is permanently visible on-chain afterwards.
The rates
| What you are doing | Funded wallet | Empty wallet (we pay the network fee) |
|---|---|---|
| Closing empty token accounts | 10% of rent, capped so you keep at least 0.002 SOL | 20% of rent |
| Burning tokens, then closing the account | 10% of rent, same cap | 20% of rent |
| Burning NFTs | 10% of rent | 20% of rent |
| Burning compressed NFTs (cNFTs) | No fee — and no rent returned | No fee — and no rent returned |
A wallet counts as empty below 1,000 lamports (0.000001 SOL) — the point at which it cannot pay for its own transaction. When closing accounts the fee is worked out per account; when burning it is worked out per token, across every account you hold of that token.
Worked examples, from real transactions
These are actual mainnet transactions. Open any of them in a block explorer and the numbers below are the ones you will find.
Two accounts, funded wallet — 1.93%
- Rent released
- 4,078,560 lamports (0.00407856 SOL)
- Returned to the user
- 4,000,000 lamports
- Our fee
- 78,560 lamports — 1.93%
Two separate tokens, one account each, both holding the standard 2,039,280 lamports. The 0.002 SOL floor applies to each, so the fee is the 39,280 above it, twice.
Eleven accounts, funded wallet — 3.42%
- Rent released
- 22,780,080 lamports (0.02278008 SOL)
- Returned to the user
- 22,000,000 lamports
- Our fee
- 780,080 lamports — 3.42%
Six accounts holding less than 0.002 SOL each — 10%
- Rent released
- 11,456,397 lamports (0.01145640 SOL)
- Returned to the user
- 10,310,754 lamports
- Our fee
- 1,145,643 lamports — 10.00%
Older token accounts often hold less rent than the 2,039,280 lamports a new one needs. There is no 0.002 SOL to leave you when the account never held that much, so these pay the plain 10%. This is the most common case, not the rare one — we would rather say so here than have you discover it in a transaction.
Where the fee goes
Our fee wallet is:
BCShQdv7vwTSW121rHfExScGvMbJH29XLvpcVazHWwEk
Every fee we have ever charged is a transfer into that account, and its whole history is public. Look at it.
Verify any of this yourself
- Open one of the transactions above in a block explorer.
- Find the SOL balance changes. The closed token accounts drop to zero — that is the rent being released.
- The wallet's balance rises by the rent minus our fee. Our wallet rises by the fee. Those two numbers plus the network fee account for every lamport that moved.
Or from a terminal, with no explorer
curl -s -X POST https://api.mainnet-beta.solana.com \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"getTransaction",
"params":["<signature>",{"maxSupportedTransactionVersion":0}]}' \
| python3 -m json.tool | grep -A20 BalancesCompressed NFTs are free, and return nothing
A compressed NFT does not have its own account holding rent, so burning one reclaims no SOL. We charge nothing for it, and you get nothing back — you still pay the network fee. It is a cleanup tool for a cluttered wallet, not a way to recover SOL.
